Now you can play Mario Kart in real life, on a real race track!

The Niagara Speedway isn’t the future location of a NASCAR race, but a brand new go-kart track opening soon in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In fact, it is “a marriage of traditional go-karts with the added fun and excitement of an elevated coaster styled track,” according to the track’s developers.

Competitors will have the chance to duke it out on a tight race course full of straightaways, hairpin turns and ramps on their way to the checkered flag. One of the main features of the Niagara Speedway is the 40-foot elevated spiral track that drops down like a roller coaster.

The opening date is set for Spring of 2018. Work on the track will continue through winter; in fact, it took 190 tons of steel and another 3,841 tons of concrete to create this half a kilometre track and all of its twists and turns.

It’s the largest and only one of its kind in North America, so when it does open, it should be bustling.
