  As you can see in the picture…good ole’ William Penn has surpassed in height many times over the recent years, but up until 1987 he remained as the tallest building in Philadelphia. Anlong-held ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ ensured the no Philly building would surpass his hat at 548 feet, however, in the late 1900’s the developers of One Liberty Place took over the title at 945 feet.
