Update – Fatal pedestrian collision

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred this morning.

Just before 9 a.m., today, Wednesday, May 16, 2018, police were called to the intersection of 39 Avenue and 36 Street N.E., for reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a CTrain. Upon arrival, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.

Police can now confirm the victim is an elderly female. No further information about her identity, or the cause of the collision, is available for release at this time. 

Roads have now been re-opened in the area.
